The game begins with your character’s birthday. Your character lives on Outset Island with his sister and grandmother. On that day, your age has passed the requirement to wear green clothing to imitate the “Hero of Time”, the hero of the legend of the Ocarina. Afterwards, you wake up and trouble is boiling outside. A giant bird kidnapped your sister and is currently being chased by pirates who fires cannonballs at it. In order to save your sister, you team up with the pirates in search for that giant bird. Eventually, the story gets deeper and you’ll know that the entire world has to be saved and you have to be the one to do it.

In the game, you get to sail around the world with the talking boat known as the King of Red Lions. The controls are fairly similar to the Ocarina of Time. Use L-trigger to lock on enemies, X, Y and Z to use the items you equipped it with. Battles are almost similar except that there is a new way to beat the enemies and that is through counter moves that will let you side step or leap over incoming attacks of enemies and strike at an enemies’ back. In other Zelda games, you get by through the right use of items at the right time. This is also true to The Legend of Zelda – Wind Waker.

Use the items appropriately to advance in each puzzles and dungeons. You can also use the items that were present in the classic Zelda games like hookshot, multiple types of arrows, bombs, power bracelets, etc. Again, you’ll need to use some of these items to solve puzzles and dungeons like the ones in the classic Zelda games.
